The house specialty

Crisp at the edge. Cloud in the middle.

Three to a plate, off the same griddle since 1989, under whipped butter and powdered sugar. The write-ups keep singling them out. The regulars just order them.

The bakery case

Half cafe, half bakery.

The case fills before the first pot of coffee is gone: muffins, butter croissants, cream-cheese danish, jars of the house granola. And the custom cakes go out the door every week, each one confirmed with a phone call.

Est. 1989 · Our name

Beautiful water.

Moonakis is the Wampanoag word for beautiful water. The cafe opened in 1989 and has poured coffee every morning since, winter very much included.

The name on the deed has changed twice. The feeling inside never has.
